If you're an IT Support Engineer who enjoys solving problems across a varied technical environment and wants a role where no two days are quite the same, this could be a good opportunity to explore. This is a fully onsite IT Support Engineer position with a large, family-owned UK home and business moving company. You'll support the day-to-day technology that keeps the business running, working across Microsoft 365, Windows environments, networking, servers, telephony, mobile devices and a wide range of hardware and software. IT Support Engineer Winchester | £30,000-£40,000 | Fully Onsite The Role This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy team where you'll work with a diverse group of people and across many different systems. You'll provide hands-on IT support across the business, dealing with day-to-day hardware, software and connectivity issues while also helping maintain the wider IT infrastructure. The role includes:
Providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to users across the business. Troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues. Supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID and Exchange. Managing user accounts, permissions, mail and group policies within a hybrid Microsoft environment. Supporting physical and virtual servers, storage, networking and cloud services. Working with technologies including Hyper-V, QNAP, NAKIVO and Wasabi. Supporting VOIP telephony through 3CX and mobile devices through Knox MDM. Maintaining printers, copiers, workstations and other IT assets. Carrying out system updates, patching, backups, upgrades and deployments. Monitoring network and system security, including firewalls, antivirus and endpoint protection. Responding to security alerts and investigating incidents. Maintaining IT asset inventories and technical documentation. Getting involved in the investigation, design, trial and implementation of new technologies that can improve efficiency and performance.
You'll need to be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and working to deadlines. Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels will be important. What we're looking for You'll need either:
At least 24 month's IT experience working with Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2022 and Microsoft 365 Cloud environments; or Relevant recognised IT certifications.
We're looking for someone organised, flexible and self-motivated, with the confidence to use their own judgement and expertise when solving problems.
