- It reads four public records together for one employer and one occupation: whether the employer appears on the Home Office register of licensed sponsors and which routes and rating the licence covers, whether the occupation is eligible for the Skilled Worker route under Appendix Skilled Occupations, the going rate that occupation carries, and how a salary you enter compares with that going rate and with the general salary threshold.
- Does a licence mean the employer will sponsor me for this job?
- No. A licence means the employer is permitted to sponsor workers; it does not mean they will sponsor this role, this salary or you. Sponsorship is the employer's decision and costs them money, and many licensed employers sponsor for only part of their hiring. The check tells you whether sponsorship is possible on the records, not whether it is on offer.
