Junior IT Support Engineer Location: London (On-site) Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role Our client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior IT Support Engineer to join their growing IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within IT, gaining exposure to a broad range of technologies while supporting users across a fast-paced, international business.
Working as part of a collaborative IT team, you'll provide first and second-line support, resolve technical issues, assist with hardware and software deployments, and help ensure users receive a high level of technical support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first and second-line IT support to end users. Respond to and resolve IT incidents and service requests within agreed timescales. Install, configure and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and peripheral equipment. Support Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments. Assist with user account administration and access requests. Provide remote support using remote access tools. Monitor and maintain IT equipment and ensure systems remain reliable. Escalate more complex technical issues to senior engineers where required. Maintain IT asset records and technical documentation. Assist with hardware rollouts, equipment refreshes and IT projects. Follow IT security policies and best practices. Liaise with third-party suppliers and vendors when necessary.
Skills & Experience
Degree, apprenticeship or relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline is desirable. Previous experience within an IT Support, Service Desk or Helpdesk role would be advantageous. Good knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11. Basic Active Directory administration. Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware. Knowledge of printers and peripheral devices. Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and wired/wireless connectivity. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload. Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
