An excellent opportunity has become available for a Junior IT Support Engineer / IT Support Technician to join a global ship owner operating within an international environment. Working as part of the IT team, you will support users across both office and vessel locations, helping to resolve technical issues, maintain IT equipment, and support the smooth running of business systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as the first point of contact for IT queries, incidents, and service requests from users. Provide technical assistance across office and vessel environments. Set up, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, virtual machines, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment. Support Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems, including troubleshooting and configuration. Assist with user account administration and access requests using Active Directory. Provide remote support using appropriate remote support tools. Maintain IT asset information and update technical documentation. Monitor equipment performance and assist with maintaining system reliability. Support hardware deployments, upgrades, and equipment replacements. Escalate more complex infrastructure issues when required. Work with external vendors and suppliers where necessary. Follow IT policies and Cyber Security procedures. Support IT projects as required.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in an IT Support, Helpdesk, Service Desk, Desktop Support, or similar role. Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware. Knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11. Understanding of Active Directory user administration. Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, and wired/wireless network troubleshooting. Experience supporting printers and peripheral devices. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Good communication skills with the ability to support users effectively. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant IT qualification or apprenticeship. Previous experience within an IT support or Helpdesk role.
