Our client is looking to build their IT support function, looking for an IT Support Engineer to provide hands-on, on-site support and help the team through a peak period. The role will blend core deskside / EUC support within a Windows 11 environment ( user issues, device readiness, and post-upgrade troubleshooting) to be based in London.
Key responsibilities
Provide 1st/2nd line on-site support for end users (walk-ups, deskside, remote where needed). Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Windows devices (laptops/desktops) , peripherals, and standard corporate tooling. Support Windows 11 , including:
Pre-checks / device readiness and remediation (where required) User support during and after upgrades Post-upgrade fixes (apps, profiles, printers, access, performance) Basic documentation / handover of common issues and resolutions
Manage and progress tickets through to resolution within agreed timelines; ensure clear ticket updates and user communication . Assist with software installs , upgrades, and configuration (packaged installs and standard tooling). Maintain good operational hygiene: knowledge articles , repeatable fixes, asset/user notes, and clear escalation details. Work closely with wider IT teams (e.g., infrastructure, security, networks) to escalate and coordinate fixes where appropriate. Follow good practice around data security , access, and compliance expectations.
This role is inside of IR35 and paying in the region of £230 a day via an umbrella provider.
