IT Technician - Secondary School
Location: Ealing Start Date: End of September 2026 Duration: Approximately 2 months Working Pattern: Full-time, 5 days per week
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Technician to join a secondary school in Ealing, starting towards the end of September for an initial period of approximately two months.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support across the school, ensuring staff and students have access to reliable IT systems and equipment. This is a hands-on role and would suit someone who is confident troubleshooting technical issues, supporting users and working independently within a busy school environment.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years' IT Technician experience to be considered and must be local to the school.
About the School
The school is a busy and well-established secondary school in Ealing. The successful candidate will work as part of the school's wider support team, helping to maintain the smooth running of its IT infrastructure and providing responsive technical assistance to staff and students.
Key Duties
Provide first-line and second-line technical support to staff and students.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
Set up, maintain and troubleshoot computers, laptops, tablets and other IT equipment.
Support users with Microsoft Office, email, internet and other school-based applications.
Assist with the setup and maintenance of classroom technology, including interactive displays and projectors.
Troubleshoot network, Wi-Fi and connectivity issues.
Manage user accounts, passwords and access permissions where required.
Install, configure and update software and operating systems.
Maintain accurate records of IT equipment and technical issues.
Assist with the deployment and maintenance of new IT equipment.
Escalate more complex technical issues when necessary.
Provide clear and professional support to staff and students.
Follow school policies relating to data protection, safeguarding and IT security.
