This post is responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership for all aspects of Pharmacy and Medicines governance throughout NHS Western Isles. This role will ensure safe, effective and person-centred pharmaceutical service. The Director of Pharmacy will act as the Board’s Chief Pharmacist and in this capacity serve as the senior Pharmacy adviser on medicines and pharmacy services
Job Summary
Population and Scope: Board-wide responsibility for pharmacy service provision within NHS Western Isles, including community pharmacy services. Emphasis on remote island delivery models including dispensing General Practice (GP) interfaces. • Budget and Resources: Leadership of the Pharmacy workforce and performance In year delegated budget holder Stewardship of pharmacy service spend across all care settings Alignment with NHS Scotland good governance, procurement and medicines value frameworks Digital Medicines:Leadership for ePrescribing/HEPMA adoption and optimisation Evaluation of data-driven improvements • Quality and Clinical:
Ensuring compliance to medicines related regulations, legislations and best-practices o Oversees timely and appropriate reporting of any medicines issues
