NuStaff is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking an experienced Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering a large, commercially viable catering service. This is a great opportunity for a skilled chef to work across a busy restaurant and kiosk operation, catering for both on-site and off-site hospitality and events.
The Role
You'll support the Head Chef in preparing and delivering high-quality food across a large customer base, helping build a customer-focused kitchen culture and deputising for the Head Chef when required.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the preparation and delivery of food production to a high standard of quality, taste, and cost management Catering for on-site hospitality as well as off-site events Helping create menus, including healthy, nutritious, and dietary-specific options, factoring in seasonal availability and customer feedback Providing on-the-job instruction and support to the kitchen team Maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with food safety legislation, including allergen compliance Supporting day-to-day procurement of kitchen and restaurant goods, monitoring quality and price Using catering software (including EPOS and click-and-collect systems) to manage stock, sales, and financial performance
What You'll Need
Essential:
City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2, or NVQ equivalent qualification Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate Proven ability to produce high-quality, creative food with awareness of current culinary trends Up-to-date knowledge of vegetarian, vegan, and modern cuisines Experience catering for high-volume operations (1500+ customer base) with kitchen responsibilities Budget management skills to support day-to-day recipe and menu management Competent use of Microsoft Office, EPOS, and other food control software Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills Ability to work independently with confident decision-making
Hours & Pay
12-Month Contract Onsite working Monday–Friday, 6.30am–2.30pm Pay Rate: £14.29 – £15.69 per hour
