Your new company A growing Financial Services organisation based in Leicester is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join its leadership team. Operating in a dynamic and regulated environment, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering excellent service and continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where finance plays a critical role in driving strategic decision-making and business performance. Your new role Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of both the financial reporting and financial planning & analysis functions, providing accurate financial information and valuable commercial insight to support business growth.You will lead a small finance team of three junior accountants, overseeing their development whilst ensuring the delivery of a high-quality finance service across the organisation. Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes. Managing the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting external audits. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and internal controls. Ownership of budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning activities. Delivering insightful management information, variance analysis and performance reporting. Partnering with senior stakeholders across the business to support strategic initiatives and decision-making. Identifying trends, risks and opportunities through detailed financial analysis. Driving continuous improvement within finance processes, systems and reporting. Managing and developing a team of three junior accountants, providing coaching and mentoring support. Supporting the Finance Director with ad hoc projects, business cases and commercial analysis.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with a strong background in both financial reporting and FP&A within a fast-paced environment. Practice background desired but not essential. Suited for a Second or Third Time Mover, so a background in Practice is desirable but not essential. You will also demonstrate:
Significant experience in a finance managerial position. Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise. Proven experience leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Previous people management experience and a passion for developing teams. Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities. High levels of commercial awareness and the ability to influence decision-making. Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems and reporting tools. Financial Services experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
