About the School

A specialist school supporting children and young people aged 4-16 years. Their pupils have a range of additional and co-existing needs, including:

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Behavioural and emotional needs Vulnerability and complex individual circumstances

We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join our dedicated team.

As a Youth Worker, you will:

Support children and young people with their emotional, social and behavioural development. Help pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills. Provide individual and group support based on each young person's needs. Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop appropriate coping strategies. Support pupils who may experience anxiety, emotional dysregulation or challenging behaviour. Take part in activities that promote communication, social skills, confidence and wellbeing. Follow individual support plans and contribute to pupils' wider development.

Is patient, calm and understanding. Has excellent communication and listening skills. Can remain calm and professional when faced with challenging situations. Understands that every young person is an individual and may need a different approach. Is able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
