Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter (Temp to Perm)
Hours: 6:00am to 6:00pm, 4 on 4 off – Permanent Days
Salary: £49,000 to £57,000 per annum
Location: Commutable from Faversham, Rainham, Maidstone, Sittingbourne, Gillingham, Chatham, Rochester, Canterbury and surrounding areas
This position will initially start on a 4–6 month contract, with the intention of becoming permanent thereafter.

An established manufacturing company operating from a new, state-of-the-art factory is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter to join its successful maintenance team.

You must be comfortable working in a heavy plant environment and willing to get hands-on with machinery maintenance, repairs and improvement work. You should also be open to further training and developing your skills.
Suitable candidates will ideally have completed a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or hold a relevant mechanical qualification. You should have experience with some of the following: bearings, motors, pumps, gears, belts, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and fabrication.
Previous maintenance, mechanical fitting or servicing experience gained within an industrial, production or manufacturing environment would be highly beneficial.
Responsibilities
This is a temp-to-perm Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter position, working permanent day shifts from 6:00am to 6:00pm on a 4 on 4 off pattern.
Completing Planned Preventative Maintenance across a wide range of production equipment and machinery.
Responding to machinery breakdowns and production line issues.
Fault finding, diagnosing mechanical problems and completing effective repairs.
Supporting planned shutdowns, improvement projects and machinery refurbishments.
Replacing, repairing and aligning worn mechanical components.
Working on belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
Identifying recurring equipment problems and helping to develop long-term solutions.
