An established and growing property and building consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural or Civil Engineer to join their Nottingham team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural or Civil Engineer who wants to work across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial projects while developing their technical expertise and career.
The successful Structural or Civil Engineer will work closely with experienced surveying and engineering professionals, providing practical structural and civil engineering advice to clients across a broad range of properties and projects.
The Role
As a Structural or Civil Engineer , you will be responsible for inspecting buildings and structures, preparing calculations and technical reports, and developing suitable engineering solutions. The position will involve both site-based and office-based work, with regular interaction with clients, consultants and other construction professionals.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Carrying out structural inspections and site surveys
Preparing structural calculations, specifications and technical reports
Assessing building defects and recommending appropriate remedial solutions
Producing and reviewing structural designs
Supporting projects from initial investigation through to completion
Liaising with clients, contractors, architects and other consultants
Ensuring work complies with relevant UK Building Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes
The successful Structural or Civil Engineer will need strong technical knowledge alongside the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical clients.
Required Experience
The ideal Structural or Civil Engineer will have a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a closely related discipline, alongside relevant UK industry experience.
Membership of, or progress towards membership with, a relevant professional body such as ICE or IStructE would be advantageous. Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status is also desirable.
A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to sites will be important for the role.
