We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled General Sonographer to join our imaging team in Swansea. The successful candidate will deliver a wide range of high-quality ultrasound examinations, supporting the diagnosis and management of patients across various clinical specialties.
You will be working alongside radiologists, consultants, and other healthcare professionals in a supportive environment, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a broad range of general ultrasound scans , including:
Abdominal
Gynaecological & early pregnancy
Small parts (e.g., thyroid, testes, soft tissue)
Musculoskeletal (where competent)
Obstetric imaging (if applicable)
Provide clear, accurate reports and escalate urgent findings appropriately.
Deliver a safe, compassionate, and professional patient experience.
Maintain excellent infection control, safety, and quality standards.
Support the training and development of junior staff and students.
Participate in audit, clinical governance, and service improvement activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Current HCPC registration
Demonstrable experience in general sonography (minimum 12 months post-qualification preferred).
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
