Mechanical Project Engineer Type: Permanent Location: Cornwall An established construction business is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of a large project in Cornwall. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer to play a key role in the coordination, procurement and delivery of mechanical packages from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with project teams, suppliers and subcontractors, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The Role As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and managing mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. Summary of duties:
Coordinating mechanical engineering activities across multiple projects. Reviewing technical designs, specifications and documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Managing the procurement of mechanical equipment, materials and subcontract packages. Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Monitoring installation activities, quality standards and programme performance. Supporting commissioning, testing and project handover activities. Carrying out site inspections, quality audits and technical reviews. Assisting with project reporting, planning and cost control. Promoting best practice in health, safety, quality and environmental performance. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and modern methods of project delivery.
What’s needed from you: We are looking for a motivated and technically capable Mechanical Engineer who has experience delivering projects within construction, engineering, manufacturing, utilities or industrial environments. You will ideally have: Experience
Experience delivering mechanical engineering projects from design through to installation and commissioning. Experience coordinating suppliers, subcontractors and project teams. Knowledge of mechanical building services, industrial, manufacturing or infrastructure projects. Experience monitoring project programmes, quality standards and commercial performance. Familiarity with digital engineering tools and modern project delivery methods.
Qualifications
HNC/ HND or equivalent in a related discipline. Relevant health and safety qualifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS & CSCS IOSH (desirable) Professional membership or working towards chartered status would be advantageous.
