A welcoming specialist school in Oxford is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Mental Health Worker to support children and young people with Autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, anxiety, trauma, and additional learning needs. This Youth Mental Health Worker role offers invaluable experience working alongside experienced teachers, therapists, psychologists, and SEN professionals in a supportive and therapeutic school environment.
As a Youth Mental Health Worker, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to children , helping them develop emotional resilience, improve self-esteem, and overcome barriers to learning. You will implement strategies to support emotional regulation, encourage positive behaviour, build trusting relationships, and help students develop confidence, communication, and social skills. The Youth Mental Health Worker will also work closely with teaching staff to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
This Youth Mental Health Worker position is an excellent opportunity for graduates or individuals aspiring to become Clinical Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Counsellors, Mental Health Practitioners, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) professionals. The experience gained as a Youth Mental Health Worker will provide a strong foundation for future study and careers supporting vulnerable children and young people.
