Hull | Interim assignment through to the end of 2026 | £50,000–£60,000 salary equivalent
We’re working with a high-growth, international business in Hull that is looking to strengthen its finance team during an exceptionally busy period. They are seeking an experienced and qualified Management Accountant to join on an interim basis, providing hands-on support from now through to the end of the year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment and can quickly get up to speed within a growing international organisation.
The Role
As Interim Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day management accounting function and ensuring the business has accurate, timely financial information to support decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances Producing profit and loss analysis and management reporting Analysing financial performance against budget, forecast and prior periods Supporting the preparation and maintenance of budgets and forecasts Providing meaningful variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders Monitoring costs, overheads and expenditure Supporting cash flow forecasting and working capital management Assisting with accruals, prepayments, journals and provisions Reviewing and analysing revenue and gross margin performance Supporting the preparation of financial information across international entities/operations Working with operational and commercial teams to understand financial performance and drivers Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls, processes and reporting Providing ad hoc financial analysis and commercial insight to the Finance Director / senior management team
About You:
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and operate confidently in a busy, changing environment.
You will ideally be:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified An experienced Management Accountant with strong month-end experience Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities Highly analytical, commercially minded and naturally inquisitive Experienced in producing clear and accurate management information Confident working with senior stakeholders and non-finance colleagues Strong technically, with a good understanding of accounting principles and controls Advanced in Excel, with experience manipulating and analysing large data sets Ideally experienced with an ERP/accounting system and modern finance reporting tools Comfortable working in an international or multi-entity environment Available at short notice or within a short notice period
