Everything we do within WTW Global Technology has a global focus at its heart. We aim to provide colleagues with consistent technology, experiences and operations wherever possible. The AI Technical Platform Leader will be crucial to the delivery of WTW's vision of a future where AI Platforms are self-service, governed through automated guardrails, and increasingly operated through intelligence versus human intervention. In this role you will shape and deliver WTW's central, enterprise-wide AI platforms by working closely with Architecture, Information Security, Compliance, and business stakeholders to mold and implement strategy. The role applies broad technical knowledge with depth in generative AI, agentic systems, enterprise platforms and engineering governance to ensure that AI platforms at WTW are optimally configured to achieve company vision and imperatives. It has end-to-end ownership of implementation and run activities for central AI platforms, ensuring solutions are secure, governed, reliable and aligned to measurable business outcomes. The role may be performed in a remote or hybrid pattern from the US or Great Britain, with occasional domestic or international travel as required.
What you'll bring
- Extensive technology experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate hybrid expertise in engineering and technology operations in a large, global enterprise:
- Software or platform engineering for global, enterprise-scaled solutions
- Management of Site reliability engineering (SRE) programs for mission-critical systems
- Creation and management of DevOps practices for automated, consistent, and secure solution deployment in regulated environments.
- Literacy in global compliance (e.g. GDPR) constraints and proven hand in navigating variable regional requirements in the implementation of centralized enterprise assets.
- Deep specialist knowledge of generative AI, agentic systems, model-provider ecosystems and enterprise AI engineering patterns, with the ability to apply that expertise across related technology disciplines.
- Practical experience designing, building and deploying AI agents using enterprise AI platforms, orchestration frameworks or comparable technologies, including declarative agents, custom-engine agents, connectors and extensions.
- Hands-on experience integrating with large language models via APIs, including tool use, governed data access and emerging interoperability patterns such as the Model Context Protocol.
- Strong understanding of generative AI engineering fundamentals, including:
