A market-leading FMCG business is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a data-driven analyst with strong Excel skills and experience using tools such as Power BI, VBA, Macros or other reporting platforms to turn complex data into meaningful commercial insight.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Procurement and Senior Leadership teams, the Commercial Analyst will analyse pricing, product performance, customer profitability, supplier and competitor activity and market trends to support strategic decision-making and drive business performance. The role combines hands-on data analysis, modelling and reporting with the opportunity to present recommendations to key stakeholders across the business.
Then I'd slightly condense the rest:
Key Responsibilities
Analyse and report on pricing, product performance, customer profitability, competitor activity, supplier data and market trends Maintain pricing tools and implement pricing updates and changes Develop and maintain commercial models to support reporting, forecasting and profitability analysis Evaluate the effectiveness of pricing and commercial initiatives, identifying opportunities and recommending improvements Work closely with Procurement and other stakeholders to maintain the integrity of commercial data and reporting Support pricing quotations, tenders and commercial proposals Produce regular and ad-hoc reports, presenting clear insights and recommendations to stakeholders across the business
Candidate Requirements
Experience analysing, manipulating and interpreting large datasets within a commercial, pricing, sales, finance or business analysis environment Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookups and logical formulae Experience using reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI would be advantageous Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent attention to detail Ability to communicate complex data clearly through reports, presentations and stakeholder engagement Knowledge of VBA, Macros and/or Power Automate would be beneficial but is not essential Degree in a numerical or business-related discipline would be advantageous
