IT Network Administrator
Working pattern: Initially office-based, with flexibility to work on a hybrid basis following successful completion of probation
Working hours: 8:00am–4:00pm, 8:30am–4:30pm, 9:00am–5:00pm or 10:00am–6:00pm

We are looking for an experienced IT Network Administrator to support the implementation, maintenance and continued improvement of a complex IT network environment.
This is a varied technical role covering wired and wireless networking, VMware administration, network security, infrastructure projects and third-line support. You will help maintain a reliable and secure network across multiple sites while supporting ongoing upgrades and improvement projects.
Key responsibilities
Install, maintain and troubleshoot Cisco and HP wired and wireless networks. Provide third-line technical support for complex infrastructure and networking issues. Administer and support VMware environments. Maintain and patch network switches, wireless LAN controllers and access points. Monitor and maintain network communication cabinets and associated infrastructure. Support the design and development of network architecture and infrastructure models. Manage cloud connectivity and ensure reliable access to cloud-based services. Administer network security controls, including access control lists and Cisco ISE. Conduct vulnerability testing, Microsoft baseline assessments and vulnerability remediation. Maintain high availability across internet connectivity, servers, wireless networks, telephony and SAN storage. Support disaster recovery planning, testing and implementation. Assist with infrastructure installations, system upgrades and wider IT projects. Conduct Wi-Fi signal surveys and resolve issues involving coverage, interference and signal overlap. Maintain accurate network diagrams, technical documentation and asset records. Participate in occasional out-of-hours remote support and installation work.
Essential skills and experience
CCNA certification. Hands-on experience supporting Cisco networking environments. Strong network troubleshooting skills across LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi environments. Experience maintaining switches, wireless controllers and access points. Previous experience providing third-line infrastructure or network support. A good understanding of network security, access controls and vulnerability remediation. Strong communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.
Desirable experience
HP switching and wireless technologies. VMware administration and support. Cisco ISE. Cloud connectivity and hybrid infrastructure. Wireless surveys and access point optimisation. Server, storage, telephony and data centre environments. Change control and IT service management processes. Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
