Testing Technician Location: Kettering, UK Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Testing Technician to join a well-established and respected testing organisation based in Kettering. Working within a specialist furniture flammability laboratory, you will support the testing of furniture and related products against British, European and international standards. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and enjoys working within a technical environment. The organisation provides testing, consultancy and technical services to manufacturers, suppliers and retailers, helping ensure products meet safety and performance requirements. Key Responsibilities As a Furniture Flammability Technician, your duties will include:
Preparing and conditioning samples for testing Carrying out flammability testing in accordance with British, European and international standards Maintaining a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment Planning and coordinating testing schedules to meet customer and business requirements Recording and reporting test results accurately Following laboratory procedures and quality standards at all times
About You To be successful in this role, you should have: Essential Requirements
GCSEs in Maths, English and Science (Grade C / Grade 5 or above) Strong written and verbal communication skills Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel The ability to work accurately and meet deadlines Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions Strong organisational and planning skills Effective time management and scheduling abilities The ability to work independently as well as part of a team A flexible, proactive and positive attitude
Desirable Requirements
Experience within the furniture industry Previous experience working in a laboratory or regulated testing environment Experience testing consumer products A full, clean UK driving licence
