Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Reports To: Head of Engineering
Work Pattern: Full Time
Summary of Role
The Senior Engineer will be working for a company in the Broadcast sector and will support the Networks and IT technology tack. The role is a critical engineering position within the Engineering team working to ensure the successful output on broadcast, digital and radio.
This dynamic role requires an experienced engineer with a willingness to think outside the box to support and expand cutting-edge NDI, automated production, cloud-based newsroom and media management platforms.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the ideal candidate, working with internal/ external stakeholders will be able to take an idea from concept to creative solution. Relocation and visa-related assistance is available for the right candidate.
Key Results Areas
Work closely with Head of Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensuring studio, gallery and associated technologies including NDI, Dante, studio automation, graphics, cloud newsroom and media platforms are operating correctly and efficiently Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage a converged network and IT environment including planning, design, optimisation, auditing, and troubleshooting Take ownership of IT and network related projects and systems including ongoing requirements gathering, support, third party vendor engagement and procurement, engineering build and on-site management Undertake maintenance tasks and general system health checks across various workflows Provide second and third-line broadcast and associated technology escalation support
Role Specific Requirements
A strong understanding of various broadcast workflows including IP transport, networking, IT and traditional broadcast systems Strong experience in dealing with high pressure, live broadcast environments with an ability to prioritise several tasks at once and describe actions up to a C-level A proven ability to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholder to drive projects, provide support and resolve issues A desire to grow personally to develop a versatile skillset that also covers digital and radio broadcast engineering activities The ability to grow the business systems into the cloud including management, design and administration of self-managed and/or SaaS cloud-based services An active interest in new technologies and production techniques and how they can benefit the network Flexibility in working out of normal office hours, over weekends and remotely, when required
