Civil & Structural Engineer
Location: Stratford, London - 3 days onsite Contract: 5 months initially, rolling Rate: £420 per day Umbrella, Inside IR35 Working Pattern: Hybrid
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer to support the safe delivery of third-party development and infrastructure works close to operational transport infrastructure.
The role involves engineering assurance, technical document review, infrastructure risk assessment and stakeholder management , working closely with developers, designers, contractors and internal assurance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Review engineering documents, designs, assessments and monitoring reports. Assess risks to operational infrastructure from construction and development activities. Manage interfaces between developers, designers, contractors and assurance teams. Coordinate specialist technical reviews and obtain relevant consents and access. Review construction, demolition and maintenance proposals near operational infrastructure. Provide technical challenge and negotiate with designers and contractors. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Track job time and costs to support cost recovery.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
Strong Civil or Structural Engineering experience. Experience working on infrastructure or development projects involving operational transport systems. Experience with construction, demolition or maintenance activities close to live infrastructure. Strong technical review, risk assessment and stakeholder management skills. Experience interpreting structural inspection, assessment and monitoring reports. Ability to negotiate technical matters with designers, contractors and other stakeholders. Knowledge of property development, utilities and construction-related legislation is desirable. Familiarity with Party Wall, Planning, CDM, Highways and railway legislation is desirable. Basic commercial awareness of design and construction activities.
