FindCore are thrilled to be assisting an award-winning multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with the recruitment of a Structural Engineer.
Permanent position. This role will be based at the company’s Sheffield office.
The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial projects, working alongside experienced Civil and Structural Engineers.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with the structural design of steel, concrete, portal frame and traditional building structures. Prepare and review structural calculations and technical drawings. Use structural design software to support engineering calculations. Work closely with CAD Technicians and other Engineers to develop project designs. Consider practical engineering, buildability and construction requirements throughout the design process. Prepare technical reports and project documentation. Coordinate with Civil, Geotechnical and other engineering disciplines. Attend project and client meetings where required. Support junior members of the engineering team as experience develops.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience within structural or civil engineering design. Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline would be advantageous. Understanding of structural design principles and construction methods. Some experience designing in steel, concrete, timber or masonry would be beneficial. Knowledge of structural design software such as MasterSeries, SCIA or similar would be advantageous but is not essential. Ability to understand and work with engineering drawings. Good technical and problem-solving ability. Strong attention to detail and willingness to continue developing technically. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a design team. Chartered status is not required , although support towards ICE or IStructE chartership is available.
