We are delighted to be working with a reputable growing business based in Middlesbrough who are looking to recruit an experienced Finance/ Treasury Assistant to join their finance team on a full time basis.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor daily cash positions and assist with short-term cash flow forecasting. Prepare and reconcile bank statements, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Process payments, including supplier payments, payroll, and intercompany transfers. Maintain banking records and documentation, including opening and managing bank accounts. Administer company credit cards and employee expense claims. Prepare treasury reports covering cash movements, balances, and variance analysis. Ensure compliance with financial controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Liaise with internal departments and external banking partners. Identify and implement improvements to treasury processes and controls.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a finance or treasury role (or a strong interest in treasury). Good understanding of accounting principles. Excellent numerical and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Good organisational and communication skills. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. AAT qualification (or working towards it) or an interest in studying AAT/ACT is desirable.
