Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Technical Business Analyst for a contract role supporting sensitive MOD and aerospace programmes. Based in Reading, the role requires a minimum on-site commitment of 20-50% and offers the opportunity to contribute to digital engineering initiatives across Synthetics, ITEA, or Training and Through Life Support (TLS).
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse and organise stakeholder needs throughout the engineering lifecycle Elicit, capture, document and maintain business and technical requirements Manage requirements baselines, change requests and impact assessments Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability from customer needs through implementation and verification Support requirements decomposition, allocation and validation activities Coordinate with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, engineers, IT teams and end users Participate in reviews, audits and governance activities to ensure compliance with requirements engineering processes Produce and review technical documentation and lifecycle deliverables
Job Requirements:
Active Security Check (SC) clearance is mandatory; valid Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is preferred Experience in business analysis, stakeholder engagement and requirements management Practical experience in one of the following areas: modelling and simulation, virtual and physical testing, qualification and certification, or training and through-life support Background delivering digital tools within aerospace, MOD or wider defence environments Understanding of requirements traceability, change control and systems engineering lifecycles Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills Experience working with defence prime system integrators, suppliers or transnational teams A degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, systems engineering or a related discipline
Desirable Skills:
Knowledge of aircraft certification, qualification processes and regulatory compliance Experience working in regulated development environments Knowledge of ArchiMate and/or TOGAF
