Cyber Security Architect

Role Overview:
Location: Derby, Manchester or Warrington – hybrid, 1-2 days on site per week Package: £66,240 – £86,940 p/a + benefits Industry: Engineering/Manufacturing
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead the architecture of complex cyber security solutions across multiple projects and technical areas. Shape early-stage concepts, helping teams turn business needs into practical, secure technology solutions. Act as a design authority, providing governance and assurance across architecture, security standards and technical decisions. Work closely with enterprise and solution architects, business stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure solutions are joined up and scalable. Define and maintain architecture patterns, standards, models and supporting documentation across the cyber security domain. Guide technology selection, balancing security, functionality, cost and long-term sustainability. Oversee integration with existing platforms and systems, ensuring solutions contribute to a coherent wider technology landscape. Support strategic planning by bringing cyber security architecture into business cases, requirements and key initiatives. Mentor architects and technical leads, helping strengthen architectural capability and best practice across delivery teams. Keep sight of emerging technologies and assess where they could add value to the organisation.
Main Skills Needed:
Extensive experience in Cyber Security architecture across complex, multi-system environments. Strong solution architecture experience, with the ability to lead design across multiple programmes or initiatives. Proven experience defining and managing technical requirements and navigating competing stakeholder priorities. Strong understanding of integration patterns, cloud platforms and enterprise architecture frameworks . Experience leading architectural governance and influencing technical direction at programme level. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to work across technical and business audiences. Experience with Teamcenter and PLM Experience developing architecture models, standards, roadmaps and design practices. Ability to mentor technical teams and embed secure architecture principles into delivery. Relevant cyber security or architecture certifications would be beneficial, including CISSP, TOGAF or BCS Enterprise/Solutions Architecture qualifications.
