Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative consultancy specialising in Mechanical and Electrical Building Services design. Using cutting-edge BIM methodologies, the client delivers coordinated and efficient design solutions from concept to completion. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, utilising tools such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows to create impactful designs for commercial projects.

Day-to-Day
On a typical day, you will:
Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop mechanical building services solutions. Use Revit MEP and AutoCAD to create and refine designs. Participate in BIM coordination meetings to ensure seamless integration of mechanical services with other disciplines. Conduct design reviews and calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements. Engage with clients and stakeholders to discuss project progress and address any design challenges. Mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering their professional growth.
Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
Designing mechanical building services, including HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Producing detailed mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, and technical reports. Developing and coordinating Revit MEP models for mechanical services. Creating accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD. Collaborating within coordinated BIM models alongside electrical, structural, and architectural teams. Participating in BIM coordination meetings and conducting clash detection exercises to resolve design issues prior to construction. Assisting in the development of coordinated building services solutions from concept through to project completion. Attending client meetings, design reviews, and site visits. Liaising closely with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure efficient project delivery. Supporting and mentoring junior engineers where appropriate.
