Client Details
I am seeking a talented Management Accountant to join a growing finance team of an ambitious, fast-growing business based in Oldham.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, supporting financial reporting across a growing international group.
This is a hands-on role at the heart of the business, with responsibility across management reporting, month-end, financial control and commercial analysis. Working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director, you will help improve the quality of reporting, strengthen financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes across the finance function.
Description
The key responsibilities of a Management Accountant will be:
Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and variance analysis Own month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations across multiple entities Manage FX transactions and revaluations across UK, EU and US entities Prepare ad-hoc reporting for senior leadership and founder-owners Prepare VAT and support statutory/regulatory submissions Analyse high-volume sales data across multiple platforms Support intercompany accounting, multi-currency consolidation and internal controls Assist with external auditors and advisors Provide margin analysis Partner with commercial, buying, operations and supply chain teams on financial performance and cost control Optimise Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and improve finance processes Identify automation opportunities, including AI, to improve reporting and month-end Improve the quality and accuracy of management information Support and mentor junior finance team members
Profile
The successful Management Accountant will be:
Part-qualified or newly qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA status Proven experience preparing monthly management accounts from start to finish Strong month-end experience, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations Good understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and deadlines Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and explain variances Confident communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance teams A proactive, inquisitive and commercially focused approach Experience within e-commerce, consumer products or an import-led business would be advantageous
