Business Analyst – Digital Media & Technology Location: King’s Cross, London Contract: 6 months Working pattern: Hybrid – three days per week in the officet Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm, 40 hours per week Pay rate: £28.85 per hour PAYE = £c60k PA The opportunity We are recruiting a Business Analyst to join the business division of a leading global technology and digital media organisation. This role will support wider analytical projects by researching business challenges, analysing complex datasets and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations. You will help identify opportunities to improve business performance, develop meaningful metrics and support informed decision-making across the organisation. Working alongside senior analysts, business leaders and cross-functional teams, you will produce insightful reports and presentations that clearly communicate trends, opportunities and recommended actions. Key responsibilities
Conduct strategic analysis to identify, assess and recommend opportunities to optimise business performance. Analyse large and complex datasets to uncover trends, risks and commercially valuable insights. Design and develop meaningful business metrics and measurement frameworks. Use SQL to extract, manipulate and analyse data. Synthesise information from multiple sources and translate findings into clear recommendations. Create dashboards, reports and presentations for business leaders and key stakeholders. Support the development of business cases and business or industry trend analysis. Respond to ad hoc data and analytical requests from senior leaders and wider teams. Assist with projects involving the integration of business objectives, operational processes and supporting systems. Evaluate potential market, product and business opportunities. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders. Build effective working relationships across the organisation. Present complex information through compelling data storytelling.
Skills and experience
Proven experience in a business analysis, data analysis or commercially focused analytical role. Strong SQL skills are essential. Experience analysing and managing large or complex datasets. Strong statistical analysis and data-synthesis capabilities. Experience designing metrics, dashboards and business reports. Understanding of experimental design and data-led decision-making. Ability to turn analytical findings into persuasive business recommendations. Strong presentation and data-storytelling skills. Good project management and organisational skills. Confident consultative approach with the ability to work across different teams. Strong technical and commercial acumen. Understanding of business operations and performance optimisation. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to work effectively with guidance from senior analysts and managers while taking ownership of assigned work.
