Robert Half are excited to announce and excluisve opportunity which has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a rapidly growing and highly successful South Wales business. Having expanded significantly in recent years, the organisation continues to invest in its finance function and is now looking to strengthen the team with the addition of a newly created role.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior finance leadership, supporting financial control, management reporting, cashflow forecasting, and business performance analysis. Long-term career progression is a genuine possibility, with the business committed to developing future finance leaders.
The Opportunity
Initially, the role will have a strong focus on management accounting and financial control, with scope to evolve into a broader commercial finance and business partnering position as the organisation continues its growth journey.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs. Balance sheet reconciliations and financial control activities. Fixed asset register management. Hire purchase accounting. Payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations. Weekly cashflow forecasting and reporting. WIP reporting and analysis. Variance analysis and commentary. Board pack preparation. Overhead allocations and group recharges. Working closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams. Supporting finance process improvements and system enhancement projects. Building strong relationships with operational stakeholders across the business.
What You'll Be Doing Month-End Activities
Balance sheet reconciliations. Fixed asset accounting. Accruals and prepayments. Hire purchase accounting. Variance analysis. Delivering management information within a 10-day month-end timetable.
Ongoing Responsibilities
Weekly cashflow forecasting. WIP reporting and analysis. Supporting operational teams to improve WIP conversion and cash collection. Business partnering with multiple operational departments. Assisting with finance transformation and system improvement initiatives.
About You
The business is open to applications from:
Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) accountants. Part-qualified accountants actively studying. Qualified by Experience (QBE) professionals with relevant industry background.
Essential Experience
Experience within construction, contracting, maintenance, engineering, projects or a similar project-based environment. Strong WIP accounting knowledge. CIS experience. Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience producing management accounts and financial analysis.
