About the Role As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality building structure projects for a wide range of clients. This consultancy consistently “punches above its weight,” securing complex and prestigious schemes across both public and private sectors. You will join a supportive team environment where progression into senior management is encouraged. Typical Responsibilities Include:
Undertaking detailed design and structural analysis across a variety of building types within the property sector. Leading projects and overseeing the work of a dedicated design team. Providing guidance, mentoring, and technical direction to junior engineers and technicians. Regular communication with architects, contractors, and wider project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. Liaising directly with clients and responding swiftly to technical queries. Attending site visits and meetings, contributing to technical reports and design reviews. Taking on increasing responsibility as you move toward higher-level management roles within the business.
Key Projects You’ll Be Involved In The Cardiff office is currently engaged in a wide range of exciting and challenging developments, including:
RC-framed multi-storey buildings up to 35 floors (hotels, residential, student accommodation) National out-of-town retail developments across the UK Custodial facilities and secure government-led projects Commercial and mixed-use developments Major hospital builds and extension programmes .
These diverse schemes provide strong technical variety and the chance to work on high-profile structural engineering challenges. What We’re Looking For To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
A degree (or equivalent) in civil or structural engineering . Chartered status with ICE or IStructE or actively working toward it. Proven experience in building structures within a consultancy environment. Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Tekla , Autodesk , and other analysis tools. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate confidently with internal and external stakeholders. A strong understanding of the design and construction process from concept stage through to site delivery.
