Kenneth Brian Associates is recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing business based in Croydon for an experienced and qualified Finance Manager .
This is a hands on leadership role, ideal for a finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, working autonomously, and supporting the wider business. Managing a team of 8, you'll be responsible for overseeing the finance function while acting as a trusted business partner across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of 8. Prepare monthly management accounts with insightful commentary. Produce annual budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections. Manage the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors. Ensure compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP. Prepare and submit VAT returns across multiple group companies. Oversee cash flow and payment processes, ensuring suppliers are paid within agreed credit terms. Manage customer credit checks and credit insurance arrangements. Provide commercial and financial support across the business, answering a wide range of operational and financial queries. Work closely with sales, operations and senior management to provide accurate information on areas such as pricing, stock availability and inventory. Participate in customer meetings where financial input is required. Prepare presentations and financial information to support fundraising and strategic initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, processes and reporting.
About You
Ideally Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Previous experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance position. Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP. Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts. Confident managing audits and dealing with external stakeholders. Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team. Highly organised, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where no two days are the same. Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with colleagues, customers and senior stakeholders at all levels. Commercially aware with a practical, problem-solving approach.
