Urgent contract BI Analyst, 3 months initial, remote ! Outside IR35
We are looking for an experienced BI Analyst to join our growing Business Intelligence team.
The business has recently expanded from a traditional apprenticeships model and now operates across four additional brands. As a result, we have multiple new data sources requiring analysis, cleansing, transformation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Gather and define stakeholder reporting requirements. Work with commercial stakeholders to understand KPI and reporting needs. Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards. Analyse and interpret sales and commercial data. Work with raw datasets from multiple newly acquired brands. Clean, transform and model data for reporting purposes. Write SQL queries against Azure SQL databases. Translate business requirements into meaningful insights and visualisations. Support the establishment of reporting standards and best practice within the BI function.
Essential Skills
Strong Power BI development experience. Strong SQL skills. Experience gathering stakeholder requirements. Experience working with ambiguous or previously unmanaged data. Ability to independently engage with stakeholders and shape reporting solutions. Data modelling and data transformation experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
Azure SQL experience. Experience working with sales or commercial datasets. Experience supporting organisations through growth, acquisitions, or integration of new businesses. Knowledge of BI best practices and governance.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where data is not always well defined. The successful candidate will be proactive, commercially minded, and capable of working directly with stakeholders to understand what they need and translate that into valuable Power BI reporting and insight.
