Elevation Recruitment Group are excited to be exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing defence manufacturer in Lincolnshire, who are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Manager to take ownership of a well equipped, high volume batch manufacturing facility.
This is a priority hire for a business scaling fast. Following significant investment from an international group with factories worldwide, turnover is projected to grow substantially over the next 12 months, headcount is increasing and the site is moving to 3 shift working, backed by further significant investment in new equipment.
The Manufacturing Manager will report to the Operations Director and join an established senior leadership team, taking responsibility for building the manufacturing structure, recruiting new team members and delivering batch orders against schedule, right first time. There is genuine scope for the role to develop into an Operations Manager or Factory Manager position as the business grows.
Working Hours: Days based, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to support a growing multi shift operation
Salary: Up to £55,000
Duties of the Manufacturing Manager will include:
Delivering the production schedule across a high volume batch manufacturing environment Owning quality of delivery and driving a right first time culture across production Managing and motivating production staff across multiple shifts Owning the training and development of production staff, ensuring the team can operate new and existing equipment safely and effectively Supporting the phased recruitment of shopfloor staff as production ramps up Working closely with the Senior or Lead Engineer on the commissioning, maintenance and repair of new and existing equipment Continuously optimising processes across production, identifying opportunities for improved efficiency, quality and cost Ensuring health and safety standards are consistently embedded across the manufacturing operation Reporting on production performance to the Operations Director and wider leadership team
Requirements of the Manufacturing Manager:
Proven experience as a Production, Manufacturing or Operations Manager within a high volume batch manufacturing environment Experience managing manual and semi automatic production lines, ideally with some exposure to robotics or automated equipment A track record of leading teams through periods of growth, new equipment installation or line commissioning Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate shopfloor teams across multiple shifts Background in defence, aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing sector is an advantage, though not essential A hands on, visible leadership style suited to a business scaling from a well established base into a significantly larger operation
