About the Business
A fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing software business based near Tenbury Wells as a Management Accountant with a salary of £45,000 – £52,000 . The business has an ambitious growth trajectory and offers genuine variety, with the role split between core management accounting and wider commercial finance work. You will manage a Finance Assistant and play a key role in providing insight that drives performance across the business.
Main Duties:
As a Management Accountant, your main duties include:
Taking ownership of the month-end process, producing accurate management accounts including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations Completing bank reconciliations, VAT returns and payroll journals, while reconciling sales data across multiple internal systems Managing customer invoicing and commission calculations, investigating variances and providing clear, actionable analysis Supporting the wider business with budgeting, forecasting and ongoing performance monitoring Analysing profitability across different areas of the business and producing KPI reporting to support key decisions Partnering with operational teams to strengthen financial controls and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes Maintaining accurate payroll records, processing and reconciling employee payroll in line with strict deadlines Preparing payroll journals and reports, resolving queries and helping to refine payroll processes Line managing a Finance Assistant and overseeing day-to-day transactional finance activity Reviewing purchase ledger, supplier payments and expenses, providing finance cover during busier periods
Location / Office / Culture
The role is hybrid , with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. The company operates from a modern office near Tenbury Wells , within a fast-paced, ambitious SME environment where you will have real scope to make an impact.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
AAT qualified is strongly desired, although candidates studying towards ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience will also be considered Strong month-end experience, with full ownership of the management accounts process is essential Proven experience working as a Management Accountant is essential Experience working within a fast-paced SME environment is required A strong understanding of both P&L and balance sheet accounting is essential
