About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a DevOps Engineer (Batch Monitoring) to work for our client within the Banking & Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.
Our client is seeking an experienced DevOps professional to support the Strategic Full Revaluation Capability (SFRC) platform, a critical Market Risk and regulatory reporting environment. The role will focus on operational monitoring, incident management, platform stability, automation, and continuous improvement to ensure key reporting processes are delivered reliably and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Monitor the health and performance of batch processing, applications, infrastructure, and data pipelines across the SFRC platform Perform first line incident management, root cause analysis, and operational troubleshooting activities Coordinate recovery actions during service disruptions, including reruns, restarts, and failover procedures Analyse operational trends and identify opportunities to improve stability, resilience, and automation Develop and maintain automation solutions using scripting and DevOps tooling Support observability initiatives through monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms Collaborate with Technology, Infrastructure, Data Engineering, and Production Support teams to resolve issues and improve service performance
About You
Experience supporting production batch processing environments within complex enterprise platforms Strong knowledge of scheduling and orchestration tools such as Quartz, Autosys, Control M or equivalent Experience with monitoring and observability tools including Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics and Bob Monitor Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Shell scripting and Ansible Strong incident management, root cause analysis and operational support experience Knowledge of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and best practices Experience supporting Market Risk, FRTB, VaR, SVaR, P&L or other regulatory reporting environments is advantageous Minimum of 5 years' experience in production support, DevOps engineering, site reliability engineering, or batch platform operations
