Our client is seeking a talented Business Reporting Analyst to join their team and play a key role in transforming data into meaningful business insight. Working closely with project managers, senior stakeholders, and operational teams, you'll develop and enhance reporting solutions, analyse performance and financial data, monitor costs and budgets, and provide actionable recommendations that support strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance business reports and Power BI dashboards, ensuring they are accurate, relevant, and easy to interpret. Work with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into effective reporting solutions. Analyse trends, variances, and performance metrics to identify opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement. Analyse project and operational costs against budgets, identifying variances, forecasting trends, and providing insights to support effective financial decision-making. Investigate data anomalies and reporting issues, identifying root causes and working with relevant teams to resolve them. Ensure data accuracy and integrity through regular validation, quality checks, and governance best practices. Produce executive-level reports, performance packs, and concise narrative insights to support business decision-making. Provide data-driven recommendations that improve operational and business performance. Collaborate across departments to support change initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a Reporting Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar reporting-focused role. Strong Power BI skills, including experience working with and improving existing reports and dashboards. Good working knowledge of SQL and strong data analysis capabilities. Ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence decision-making. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present findings to senior audiences. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Understanding of business intelligence and reporting best practices.
Additional Information
Location: Tamworth, 4 days on site per week (1 day remote) Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits
