Accountant £45,000 – £55,000 Wokingham Full Time, Permanent
We have an opportunity for an Accountant within a well-established accountancy practice at its offices on the outskirts of Wokingham. The ideal candidate will be qualified ACCA/ACA with significant accounts and tax experience gained within a UK accountancy firm. Strong personal tax experience would be an advantage.

This firm enjoys a high staff retention and is recruiting to build the team. The role will be within a friendly team, predominantly working on a mixed portfolio of SME clients.
As Accountant the main functions of this role will include:
Be the first point of contact for allocated clients, responding to various client enquiries in an accurate and timely manner Accounts preparation for SME clients (FRS 102 Section 1a & FRS 105) Assisting the VAT team with the preparation of quarterly management accounts and VAT returns Advising clients on salary and dividends Assist with Personal Tax Returns and ideally, deeper involvement with the personal tax portfolio Develop an ongoing, effective relationship with clients and ensure retention of clients Working within a team to ensure deadlines are met and be able to work independently
The role would suit someone with a solid accounts background from practice and ideally have some experience of VAT and personal tax. The role would ideally be a floating resource, predominantly working in the accounts department and assisting with personal tax and VAT during busy periods. Training in personal tax and VAT can be provided if necessary.
To be considered for this position, applicants will satisfy the following:
Be qualified ACCA/ACA – applications from exceptional qualified by experience accountants may be considered Have significant accounts preparation and tax experience gained within practice Have a solid experience of accountancy software e.g. Sage, IRIS, FreeAgent, Kashflow and other online bookkeeping software Be an amiable team player Have excellent written and verbal communication skills Be highly organised with attention to detail
