Senior / Principal Civil Engineer – Development Infrastructure Exeter Are you an experienced Civil Engineer looking for the opportunity to lead complex development and infrastructure projects while playing a key role in the growth and success of a high-performing consultancy team? We are recruiting for an ambitious and technically strong Senior or Principal Civil Engineer to join a global engineering consultancy in Exeter The Role As a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer, you will lead the day-to-day technical delivery of a diverse portfolio of land, property and infrastructure development projects. You will provide technical expertise across a range of civil engineering disciplines, including:
Drainage design and strategies SuDS and flood risk management Highways and infrastructure design Streetscape and public realm Earthworks strategies Utilities planning and coordination
Working closely with clients, design teams, stakeholders and statutory authorities, you will be responsible for developing strong relationships and helping to drive projects successfully through the development process. You will also support and mentor engineers and technical staff within the team, providing guidance and technical leadership to colleagues at varying stages of their careers. Key Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the technical delivery of civil engineering consultancy services across all stages of the project lifecycle. Managing and delivering multiple multidisciplinary development and infrastructure projects. Providing expertise in drainage, SuDS, flood risk, highways, earthworks and utilities. Producing and overseeing infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings. Supporting projects from initial feasibility and due diligence through planning, detailed design and construction. Leading client engagement and managing relationships with key stakeholders. Collaborating with internal and external multidisciplinary design teams. Liaising with local authorities, highway authorities, water companies, statutory undertakers and other approving bodies.
What We're Looking For We are keen to speak with experienced Civil Engineers who can demonstrate strong technical knowledge and a successful track record within the development sector. You will ideally have experience in:
Highway design and infrastructure planning. Drainage strategies and detailed drainage design. SuDS and flood risk assessment and management. Earthworks and levels strategies. Utilities design, planning and coordination. Infrastructure masterplanning and site appraisal.
