SOFTWARE ENGINEER £130,000 + BONUS

This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for an engineer who wants to operate as one of the first hires in a newly formed AI team. You'll have the chance to build AI products from scratch, work directly with senior leadership, and help reshape how a global technology investment business operates through automation and AI.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading software-focused investment firm with a portfolio of technology businesses across the globe. They are making a significant investment in AI and are building an internal AI function to transform everything from operational workflows to investment research and decision-making. This is a greenfield environment with minimal bureaucracy, strong executive sponsorship, and the backing of a highly successful global organisation.
THE ROLE
Build AI-powered products, workflow automation tools and internal platforms from concept through to production Develop intelligent assistants, agent-based applications and LLM-powered solutions to improve business processes. Work across Software Engineering, Data Engineering and DevOps to deliver impactful AI initiatives. Design and manage cloud infrastructure and data platforms within AWS environments. Join as one of the first engineers in the team, helping shape architecture, tooling and technical direction from day one.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Around 3-6 years' experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering or Platform Engineering. Strong Python, SQL and AWS experience is essential. Experience designing, building and operating production systems end-to-end. Comfortable working in startup, scale-up or highly autonomous engineering environments. Exposure to infrastructure, DevOps and cloud automation. Experience building with LLMs, Generative AI or AI-powered applications would be highly beneficial. Previous experience as an early-stage or founding engineer is advantageous. Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Terraform or AWS CDK is desirable.
