Are you an ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant looking for a role that offers genuine ownership, technical exposure and the opportunity to make an impact?
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys being more than just a numbers person. You’ll have real visibility across the business, working closely with the Financial Controller, CFO, auditors, tax advisors and senior finance stakeholders, while taking ownership of important areas including statutory reporting, group consolidations, financial controls, tax and acquisitions.
You’ll be joining a growing organisation where there is plenty of opportunity to improve processes, influence how things are done and broaden your commercial and technical experience.
If you’re looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your opinion is heard and no two days are quite the same, this could be an excellent next step.
About You
You’ll be an ACA or ACCA-qualified accountant with a strong technical accounting background and the confidence to operate at a senior level within a busy finance environment.
You’ll enjoy getting into the detail but also be able to step back and understand the bigger picture. You’ll have the confidence to work directly with the Financial Controller, CFO, auditors and external advisors, explaining complex financial information clearly and constructively.
You’ll be highly organised, naturally curious and comfortable managing multiple priorities, with a genuine interest in improving processes and supporting the wider business as it continues to grow.
Role:
This is a varied and high-impact role, giving you exposure across the full financial accounting function.
Take ownership of and continually strengthen financial controls across the group, ensuring robust processes, policies and reconciliations are in place. Work on exciting finance projects, including system improvements, acquisitions, integrations and process enhancements. Partner with the Management Accountant team to produce the monthly consolidated Balance Sheet, ensuring accuracy, completeness and high-quality reconciliations. Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and group consolidations. Lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for all group entities, including the consolidated accounts, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 and the latest accounting standards. Take ownership of the end-to-end statutory audit, acting as the key point of contact for external auditors. Support and develop the Trainee Financial Accountant, including audit packs, samples and responding to audit queries. Partner with operational finance teams to improve financial understanding, reporting and accuracy across the business. Prepare and submit VAT returns and other regulatory/statutory filings. Provide technical accounting support and advice across the business. Take ownership of ad-hoc reporting and projects as required by the Financial Controller and CFO.
