Site Project Manager – Manufacturing / Construction £50,000–£60,000 per annum 9-month fixed-term contract Manchester area - The location is commutable from Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale, Glossop and the surrounding areas. Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with some flexibility
We are recruiting an experienced Site Project Manager to oversee the on-site delivery of a major £6 million factory upgrade for a leading manufacturing business.
This is a hands-on project delivery role, responsible for coordinating contractors, monitoring progress and ensuring the work is completed safely, according to design and in line with the agreed program.
Although the project includes the replacement and conversion of major manufacturing assets, this is not a machinery focused position. The primary focus is construction, installation, contractor coordination and health and safety within a live manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing the day-to-day delivery of the project on site
Coordinating contractors, subcontractors and specialist trades
Monitoring progress against the program and key milestones
Ensuring work is completed according to drawings, designs and specifications
Managing health and safety within a live operational factory
Reviewing RAMS and overseeing permit-to-work requirements
Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015
Identifying and addressing delays, quality concerns and unsafe practices
Leading site meetings, progress updates and safety briefings
Maintaining accurate project, inspection and safety records
Reporting progress, risks and issues to the wider project team
The successful candidate will have:
Strong experience delivering construction, installation or capital projects
Experience managing contractors in a live manufacturing, factory, or industrial environment
A strong understanding of CDM Regulations and construction health and safety
SMSTS certification and a valid CSCS Manager card
Experience reviewing RAMS and managing permit-to-work systems
Strong organisational, communication and contractor-management skills
The confidence to challenge delays, poor performance and unsafe working practices
Experience delivering factory upgrades, process plant or energy-conversion projects would be advantageous
This is a fully site-based position. You must be prepared to attend the Manchester-area site every working day, as there is no hybrid or remote-working option.
