The role will support the procurement of IT hardware, software, technology and services across the business, sitting between IT and procurement and working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure the business is getting the right technology, services and commercial agreements in place.
Importantly, you don't necessarily need to come from a traditional IT procurement background.
This could be an ideal opportunity for someone with IT experience who has been involved with suppliers, purchasing, licensing or IT assets and would like to develop their career within procurement. Equally, it could suit someone with a procurement or purchasing background who is interested in technology and wants to expand their experience into IT procurement.
The role
You will be involved in a range of IT procurement activities, including:
Supporting the purchase of IT hardware, software, licensing, telecoms and technology services Working with internal teams to understand requirements and identify suitable suppliers Managing and supporting IT procurement projects from initial requirements through to supplier selection and delivery Obtaining and evaluating quotes, negotiating pricing and helping secure strong commercial terms Supporting contract negotiations, renewals, SLAs and software licensing agreements Building and maintaining relationships with technology suppliers and vendors Monitoring supplier performance, spend, contract expiry dates and software renewals Coordinating the delivery and implementation of new equipment and technology Supporting IT budgeting and forecasting Assisting with wider procurement projects across the organisation Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve supplier services
What we're looking for
You don't need to tick every box, but you'll ideally have experience within either IT/technology or procurement/purchasing, alongside an interest in developing your knowledge of the other area.
We're particularly interested in speaking with people who have:
Experience within IT, procurement, purchasing, supplier management or a related area Strong negotiation and commercial skills Confidence dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders Experience supporting or managing projects An interest in technology, IT hardware, software and licensing Good organisational skills and attention to detail Strong communication and relationship-building skills The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
