Senior Quantity Surveyor, Manchester
Up to £80,000 + Company Electric Car Manchester Monday to Friday 7.30am–5.00pm Civil Engineering | Groundworks | Infrastructure
An established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused QS who wants to take a senior role within a growing business and have a genuine influence on its commercial operations and systems.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with Contracts Managers, Site Managers and the wider operational team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing applications for payment and client invoicing Pricing and managing variations, design changes and additional works Monitoring project costs, budgets and expenditure Preparing and monitoring cost to complete (CTC) forecasts Managing labour, plant, materials and subcontract costs Preparing valuations and commercial reports Managing project final accounts Identifying commercial risks and opportunities Working closely with operational teams to maintain strong cost control Developing and improving internal commercial and costing systems Playing a key role in the implementation and development of Eque2
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from Quantity Surveyors with experience in:
Civil engineering Groundworks Infrastructure Residential development
You'll ideally have HNC-level qualifications in Construction or Civil Engineering and proven experience managing valuations, applications for payment, variations, forecasting and final accounts.
Strong Excel, numerical, analytical and commercial skills are essential. Experience with Eque2 or similar construction software would be a major advantage.
