Lead Aircraft Mechanic | Sheet Metal & Cabin
Salary: £54,000 per annum Shift Pattern: 5,5,4 Positions Available: 3
We are recruiting for three Lead Aircraft Mechanics to join an established aviation maintenance operation.
We are looking for:
2 x Lead Mechanics with Sheet Metal experience 1 x Lead Mechanic with Cabin experience
This is a hands on leadership position, suited to experienced aircraft mechanics who are confident taking responsibility for maintenance activities while supporting and guiding other engineers and technicians on shift.
The Role
As a Lead Aircraft Mechanic, you will take a key role in coordinating and delivering aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality and regulatory standards.
You will be expected to lead by example on the hangar floor, provide technical support to the wider team and help ensure maintenance tasks are completed correctly and within required timescales.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support aircraft maintenance activities on shift Carry out hands on maintenance, inspection, repair and modification work Provide technical guidance and support to mechanics and technicians Allocate and coordinate maintenance tasks where required Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved maintenance data and company procedures Support fault finding, defect rectification and troubleshooting Monitor the quality and progress of maintenance activities Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records and documentation Promote a strong safety and compliance culture across the team Liaise with engineering, production and management teams as required
Sheet Metal Lead Mechanics
For the two Sheet Metal positions, candidates should have substantial aircraft structural maintenance experience, including:
Aircraft structural repair and modification Sheet metal fabrication Drilling, riveting and fastening Structural inspections and rectification Working from aircraft drawings and approved technical data Previous experience leading or mentoring other mechanics is highly desirable
Cabin Lead Mechanic
For the Cabin position, candidates should have strong hands on aircraft cabin maintenance experience, including areas such as:
Aircraft cabin maintenance and repair Seats, panels, galleys and lavatories Cabin interiors and components Cabin modifications and refurbishment Defect rectification and troubleshooting Previous experience leading or mentoring other mechanics is highly desirable
