Job Advert: Junior Business Analyst

Our client, a leading organisation within the Financial Services sector, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Business Analyst for a temporary contract lasting six months. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain hands-on experience in business analysis and project support within a dynamic environment.
Purpose of the Role: The Junior Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting Business Analysts, Project Managers, and various stakeholders in understanding business needs, analysing processes, and documenting requirements. This position involves providing analytical and administrative support across various projects and programmes, ensuring that business requirements, process documentation, actions, decisions, and dependencies are meticulously captured and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Business Analysts in gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements. Assist in stakeholder meetings and workshops by preparing agendas, taking notes, recording actions, and documenting key decisions. Help create and maintain process maps and supporting documentation, including BPMN 2.0 process models. Gather information from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to understand current business processes, systems, and workflows. Document current-state and future-state processes under the guidance of experienced Business Analysts. Maintain accurate and clear business analysis documentation, including requirements, process maps, meeting notes, action logs, and issue logs. Identify and analyse process gaps, inefficiencies, duplication, dependencies, and potential improvement opportunities. Support impact assessments to understand how proposed changes may affect business processes, teams, and systems. Prepare reports, presentations, and analyses for project and programme stakeholders. Assist with requirements traceability, ensuring that agreed changes and requirements are documented. Support QA and testing activities, including preparation and execution of test scripts. Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Maintain accurate and audit-ready project and process documentation in line with governance requirements.
Qualifications and Skills: Essential:
Degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience. Some experience in Business Analysis, Project Support, Process Analysis, or a similar role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify key points from information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in producing clear and accurate documentation. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at various levels. Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Willingness to learn Business Analysis techniques and relevant concepts in financial services.
