Temporary Finance Data Analyst – 3 Month Contract
Nottingham | Hybrid – 2/3 days office based | 3-month initial contract with potential to extend
We’re recruiting for a Temporary Finance Data Analyst to join a growing technology business based in Nottingham. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with financial data, spotting trends and discrepancies, and turning information into useful reporting for the wider business.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, Finance, Sales and other internal teams, you’ll take ownership of financial and sales ledger data, reporting and analysis. The role will have a particular focus on NetSuite, so previous experience with NetSuite or a similar Oracle-based ERP system would be a real advantage.
What you’ll be doing
Maintaining accurate finance, customer and sales ledger data within NetSuite.
Extracting, manipulating and analysing financial data to support reporting and business decisions.
Producing regular reports, dashboards and analysis covering areas such as aged debt, cash allocation, credit exposure and customer accounts.
Analysing data to identify trends, risks, variances and areas requiring attention.
Supporting month-end through reconciliations, analysis and accurate reporting.
Investigating discrepancies, unallocated cash, missing invoices, pricing issues and customer account queries.
Working closely with Finance, Sales, Logistics and other teams to resolve issues.
Providing weekly and monthly updates to the Financial Controller.
Supporting improvements to finance systems, reporting processes and controls.
Assisting with credit control and customer account processes through accurate data and analysis.
Supporting wider finance projects, system changes and ad hoc analysis.
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have at least two years’ experience working within finance or closely alongside a finance team, with some understanding of sales ledger processes.
Strong Excel skills are important, including formulas, pivot tables, charts and ideally some understanding of macros. Experience using NetSuite would be highly beneficial, although experience with another Oracle-based ERP system could also be relevant.
You’ll need to be confident working with large amounts of data, identifying trends and discrepancies and presenting your findings clearly. The role will also involve communicating with senior stakeholders, so someone confident, organised and comfortable asking questions would work well.
