I am delighted to be working exclusively with a highly profitable and well-established business in the search for a Management Accountant, into a newly created role.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of the month-end and management accounting process for a key business unit, while gaining broader exposure to budgeting, forecasting, controls, and commercial finance.
This is a hands-on role offering plenty of scope to develop both technically and commercially within a structured group environment.
Key responsibilities
Own the month-end close and preparation of management accounts Prepare accruals, prepayments, depreciation and month-end journals Complete balance sheet, intercompany and key ledger reconciliations Analyse revenue, cost of sales and financial performance Support annual budgets and quarterly forecasting Assist with cash flow forecasting Compliance, internal controls and audit requirements Assist with VAT, year-end reporting and external audit Provide clear financial commentary and work closely with non-finance stakeholders Identify opportunities to improve and automate finance processes
The successful candidate
You will ideally be newly qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with strong hands-on management accounting experience.
You will also have:
Strong month-end accounting experience Excellent Excel skills Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate reporting Good communication and stakeholder management skills A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage your own workload Commercial awareness and the ambition to develop beyond core accounting
Previous exposure to multi-entity accounting, budgeting and forecasting, VAT, audit or reporting automation would be advantageous but is not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to take greater ownership and develop within a broad, commercially focused finance role.
