Civil Engineering Technician - Consultancy | Colchester
Salary up to £35,000
A well-established and growing civil and structural engineering consultancy in Colchester is looking for a Civil Engineering Technician to join its collaborative and forward-thinking team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician to contribute to a variety of exciting infrastructure and development projects across the UK.
The Civil Engineering Technician role; As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will support the engineering team in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure schemes, working on projects including residential developments, commercial sites, and public sector infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities of this Civils Technician role;
Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD (and other relevant design software) Assist with the design of roads, drainage, and external works Produce technical drawings and documentation for planning and construction stages Work closely with engineers and project teams to develop design solutions Coordinate with architects, clients, and other consultants Ensure drawings comply with relevant design standards and regulations
Requirements
Experience working as a Civil Engineering Technician within a consultancy environment Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Civil 3D or MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage advantageous) Understanding of drainage design, highways layouts, and infrastructure works Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
