Our client an independent firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking an Accountant to join their expanding team in Chichester.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accountancy within a supportive and professional practice environment.
The role will involve preparing accounts and tax returns, as well as dealing with tax compliance work, bookkeeping and cloud accounting for mixed portfolio of clients, including owner managed businesses.
Key Duties:
Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. Prepare and submit corporation tax returns. Review bookkeeping records and supporting documentation. Prepare year-end working papers and schedules. Prepare self-assessment tax returns for directors and individuals. Review and assist with VAT returns. Identify tax planning opportunities and raise these with managers and partners where appropriate. Review bookkeeping records maintained by clients. Support clients using cloud accounting software, particularly Xero. Promote best practice and efficiency through technology. Ensure compliance with professional and regulatory requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting, tax and legislative developments.
You will ideally be AAT qualified and have at least 2-3 years' practice experience with a strong accounts and tax background. Study support will also be offered for professional qualifications such as ACCA or ACA if required.
A sound working knowledge of accounting software such as Xero would also be an advantage.
